18th Annual Fernside Skate Comp

  • Fernside Skate Park Cnr McEvoy and Elizabeth Streets Sydney Australia (map)

The Annual Fernside Skate Comp is here once again and set to kick off Youth Week 2016 with a bang. The Comp has been running for 18 years strong and has seen some of Australia’s best skateboarders put it all on the line for a shot at the winner podium. The event Mix’s in some of the biggest names in the industries like Bjorn Johnston and Nik "Stipo" and George "Zoolz" showing how it’s done with demos, amazing giveaways, Live music and you have all the ingredients to an old fashioned good time!

This year Weave and the City of Sydney have rammed it up a notch with the event coinciding with the official launch of the 2016 Youth Week opening celebrations. This show of interest reflects the important of this pinnacle event and creates a platform for young and old talent to be appreciated by the skate community and beyond.

If you’re keen on checking out some jaw dropping, edge of your seat action, come along and see what all the fuss is about. If you skate and want to show your ability, the stage is set and this is the perfect chance to have fun skating in a friendly, competitive environment and to win some RAD prizes from Modus, Vans, Passport, Volcom, Supra, Krew, Protec and more.

If you're into your gadgets then the Save the Children Mobile Youth Van is right up your ally. The van will be open for the public to learn new skills around digital media; rap and Rhyme so come and get your geek on.

The competition will be a “jam” format designed to be more inclusive, less intimidating and non-stop action.
